Dogie Days Festival 2014

Friday 13, just like any other day & Dogie Days Festival is in full swing in Dumas Texas. Yesterday started it off with a big bar-b-que. The whole town turns out for this slow cooked beef and taste tantalizing sauce, served with a side of beans, some bread & a half of a peach. This tradition has been going on since 1946. I enjoyed going with my daughter, even though she is an R.N. & had worked all night she did not want to miss it. She was not scheduled to work last night so she said she could sleep later.

Then last night She & Carlos brought us foot long corn-dogs by & Rooster Eggs from the Festival. Rooster eggs are a delicious treat made of fried biscuit dough rolled in cinnamon & sugar, akin to the doughnut family. She knows how much I love them!! Carlos is so good to her & I am so glad God sent him into her life. She is once again happy & I think happier that she has ever been.  It is so good to finally see her over the heart ache of the divorce.
